Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Snow, mountains, and the small group that shares them. A look at what six days in the mountains actually looks like — on the trail, in the trees, and out in the open.
Back to the itinerary →These photos show the winter landscape of Jackson Hole, Wild, our six-day small-group trip for solo travelers in Wyoming. The trip is based first at Alpine House in the town of Jackson, with a full-day guided wildlife tour through Grand Teton National Park, where bison and elk winter on the snow-covered flats below the Teton range.
Midweek brings a choice between the National Museum of Wildlife Art and a guided snowshoe to Taggart Lake, then a move to Turpin Meadow Ranch for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the backcountry. The last full day goes deeper still, into Yellowstone by snow coach or out on a guided snowmobile tour. For a closer look at the season, read Jackson Hole in deep winter, or see the valley in warmer months in the summer gallery.
